Have you ever tried this Torani Salted Carmel syrup? Found it at the grocery store and want to share a quick tutorial on how to make a latte at home. It is currently our favorite flavor and can be found on Amazon if your grocery store doesn’t have it!
Start with a dark roast coffee. You want a coffee that is not too weak, because when you add the milk it dilutes the strength. I like Starbucks Verona blend, but any dark roast will do.
Next, you need to steam the milk. I’ve had this Nepresso steamer for 10 years and it works so good! If you have a hand held frother that will do the trick too. Use 1 or 2 percent milk (I have tried whole milk in the steamer and it doesn’t froth quite as well). If you have a hand held frother warm the milk in a saucepan, on the stove, then froth until foam is the right consistency. Next, pour the steamed milk into the dark roast coffee. Lastly, sweeten it up with a syrup or sweetener of your choice.
The foamy deliciousness is our favorite part! Pour the syrup right into the froth. It tastes just like a caramel latte you would buy at a coffee shop, but the best part is it costs way less! Serve it with a treat of your choice. Then invite a friend over and wow them with your barista skills!!
I have to confess that I stole these white chocolate dipped ginger cookies from my friend Stacey. She makes them every year at a church event, and somehow I manage to sneak out a few when she brings a plate to youth group. 🙂 I hide them from my kids…they are so pretty and they taste even better than they look!
