Light for Their Souls

7 days left until Christmas.  Seven days people!!!  Life is flying by around me crazy fast.  I don’t know why I am shocked every year by the craziness of this season, but I am.  Kids activities, church activities, school activities, Christmas parties, piano recitals, not to mention everyday life…cooking, laundry, cleaning, homework, laundry (oh I already said that), Christmas shopping (which I have not finished), present wrapping (which I have not started).  I must admit that every morning this week it has been a struggle to get out of bed.  This time of year is hard for me.  I struggle the most this season. Not enough time to accomplish what I want to accomplish.  I am often impatient, short with my kids and stressed out.  I don’t spend enough time devoting my time to my Savior…the Reason for the Season.

I tell you all of this to introduce you to one of my closest friends Jolene (yes, you heard that right, another Jolene).  I consider her a sister.  The kind of friend that you can go years without seeing and pick up right were you left off.  We met in college and pretty much were destined (because of our uncommon name) to be friends forever.  She has always been an encouragement to me and her devotional series could not have come at a better time of year.  She lives in South Carolina with her husband and four sweet littles.  Her series is a 43 day dare to herself (while studying Philippians) “to live fully amidst the routine of life.”

So if you are weary this December, probably like most of the moms (or women in general) out there.  Grab a cup of coffee or tea and subscribe to lightfortheirsouls.blogspot.com.  You will be encouraged if you do, and your days I hope will be a little bit sweeter!

Merry Christmas!
